Tayyib Ism (Exodus Canyon / The valley of Moses) is one of the magical natural wonders of Saudi Arabia that takes visitors by surprise. The huge granite walls and perennially running stream make this place cooler than the surrounding areas – a welcome relief in the hotter months. The gorge stretches for over 5km, starting at the oasis of Elim and ending in a splendid view of the Red Sea. “The Split Mountain” as according to local, the split happened when Moses crossed the Red Sea from Egypt into Medyan. Various wildlife has been spotted in the Valley since access by vehicle has been restricted and the habitat once again became favorable to birds and animals to live in.
