In the years ahead, it will revolutionize and redefine the realm of global travel. With a commitment to preserving untouched landscapes, including the awe-inspiring Trojena peaks and breathtaking coastal waters, NEOM is set to establish a new paradigm for sustainable tourism.
NEOM promises to be an extraordinary destination, captivating and alluring travelers from around the world, unlike any other experience available.
Located in Tabuk Province in northwestern Saudi Arabia, is a planned smart city that will thrive on the power of talent and diversity across 14 sectors. Situated north of the Red Sea, east of Egypt (across the Gulf of Aqaba), and south of Jordan, NEOM spans an extensive area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi), almost equivalent to the size of Belgium. The city's comprehensive plans encompass various regions, including a floating industrial complex, a global trade hub, tourist resorts, and a linear city, all operating solely on renewable energy sources.
The developers aim to complete the majority of NEOM by 2039, although Saudi Arabia initially targeted to finish significant parts of the project by 2030. With an estimated cost exceeding $500 billion, NEOM is a monumental undertaking. On January 29, 2019, Saudi Arabia established a closed joint-stock company named Neom, which is wholly owned by the Public Investment Fund and dedicated exclusively to developing the economic zone of NEOM.
NEOM boasts a diverse climate, providing residents with both sun-soaked beaches and snow-capped mountains. Its exceptional location ensures enhanced livability while preserving 95% of the surrounding natural landscape. With a coastline stretching 468 km and 41 islands waiting to be explored, NEOM sets itself apart as a cooler and distinct destination within the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council).
